Eligibility Requirements

Make sure you meet these requirements before applying.

Age Requirement: Must be under 55 years of age (unless state/territory exempts)
Business Ownership Experience: Must have owned and managed at least one qualifying business in the past 4 years
Character Requirements: Must meet character requirements with police clearance from all countries lived 12+ months
English Language: Must have at least Vocational English (IELTS 5.0 overall or equivalent)
Health Requirements: Must meet health requirements including medical examination
Net Assets: Must have net personal and business assets of at least AUD 1,250,000 that can be legally transferred to Australia within 2 years
State/Territory Nomination: Must be nominated by a state or territory government
Points Test: Must score at least 65 points on the business innovation points test
Business Turnover: Qualifying business must have had annual turnover of at least AUD 750,000 in at least 2 of the 4 fiscal years before application
